Festivals

Details on Festival Season 2010 are forthcoming! Dates will be announced on 4/20/2010!

Our festivals are small (~200 bro’s and sisters) and have a kind vibe. We do our best to fill the entire day with music including bands, open mic, and homegrown jams. Bands come and play for free because they believe in our scene. One thing is for sure, night time comes alive and music can last until dawn! Our family is growing and we hope you decide to come join us.

Bands Wanted

Summer festival season is coming and we need bands.

Please send name of band and a link to your music to mysterytrainlive@hotmail.com.

We are looking for bands in all styles of music. Blues, classic rock, southern rock, funk, bluegrass, 50’s rock, acoustic duo, solo and more. Open mic spots are available during these events as well.

Our festivals are band friendly meaning we give ample time to play and this year a well managed stage. Most time slots are 2 hours not including set up and tear down for electric and 1 hour spots for acoustic.

VERY IMPORTANT DETAIL: We are sorry but we CANNOT pay any band. We can, however, offer good exposure, a sound system, promoting on fliers, posters and website, and of course a great and memorable time.

Please understand that our biggest challenge is breaking even. Cost of venue, garbage removal, porta-pots, event insurance, travel expenses, and promotion materials add up quickly.

Thank you in advance for considering us!

Volunteers Wanted

We really need you for our Summer Festival Season. We are offering free VIP tickets and other benefits for anyone interested in being involved in pre-planning, day of event and/or post event tasks. Obviously, you don’t need to pay for anything such as printed materials, gas, etc. We just simply need your help.

Tasks include:
Posting fliers and direction signs
Night Lighting/Fire keeper
Ticket Booth
Parking
Kids activity area
Trash/Clean up
Peace keepers
Set up and Tear down
and more.

Food and Craft Vendors Wanted

Anyone can set up… SHAKEDOWN STYLE!

There is no fee for any vendor. Why? You are part of the show like everyone else. We feel that without you the show/scene isn’t complete. Simple as that! The only cost is the admission price. FOOD VENDORS are especially in demand. =)

Want to break into the merch biz and need some inspiration? Feel free to create and sell homemade Mysterytrain merchandise for profit. Stickers, shirts, jewelry, artwork… whatever! We are grateful that you would even consider it so feel free to run with it! Email ginariggio@gmail.com if you have an idea, just so we know what’s going on.

Festival Rules

We are not concert promoters. We are a band. The fewer hassles we have to deal with at these events, the better it is for everyone. We love having the opportunity to put these grassroots festivals together for you, the guest bands, the vendors and for us as well.

These rules are so people can have a safe and kind time at our festivals.

Rule 1 – Be kind to each other.
Rule 2 – Have fun.
Rule 3 – Don’t drink and drive… please spent the night.
Rule 4 – If you are under 18 years old you need to be with a parent or guardian… seriously. We check ID at the gate.

Oh yeah…

YOU MAY… camp in, on, beside, beneath or against your vehicle.
YOU MAY… set up a vending booth, blanket or table for free.
YOU MAY… camp next to your vending booth.
YOU MAY… leave and come back but please notify the front gate.
YOU MAY… BYOB (Bring your own buzz)
YOU MAY… Bring friendly pets.
YOU MAY… Cook breakfast for everyone in the morning.
YOU MAY… help keep the scene clean… and green.
YOU MAY… show tolerance to others’ ways of celebrating.
YOU MAY… want to bring a friend.
YOU MAY… bring children under 12 years old for free.
YOU MAY… cover up those who have passed out by the fire.
YOU MAY… empty a trash can when it’s getting full and then re-line it.
YOU MAY… make yourself at home and perhaps come back!
YOU MAY… refrain from drawing on people who pass out with their shoes on.

HOPEFULLY YOU MAY… have that strange transition feeling when you leave the festival and have to enter back into the world of reality.
